MV Award

Are you age 16 - 25?

The MV award recognises your volunteering efforts and it couldn't be easier to get started! After registering, just record the hours you spend volunteering on a MV timesheet and when you reach 50, 100 and 200 hours of volunteering you'll receive an MV certificate.

The award is endorsed by the Scottish Government and can help you stand out from the crowd when applying for jobs or college courses.   

MV Step by Step

Step 1 : Start Volunteering

Use our getting started guide to help. Skip this step if you are already volunteering.

   

Step 2: Register for MV 

Download, complete and return our registration form to register

Step 3 : Record the hours you spend volunteering  

Use the MV Timesheet to record your hours

Step 4 : At 50, 100 or 200 hours get your
               supervisor to sign off your hours

 
   

Step 5 : Send your timesheet to the Volunteer Centre

 
   

Step 6 : We send your certificates 

 

Useful MV Information

The organisation you volunteer with also needs to register for MV - just ask your supervisor to contact us to register.

You have 2 years to complete your MV Award

If you have been volunteering for a while, you can count all your volunteering hours for the previous 2 years.

You can count all the hours you do with any number of organisations.

Volunteering for other awards e.g. DofE or Youth Achievement Award can count for MV - ask us for details.

Time spent on the following activities also counts for MV:
  

  • volunteer team meetings
  • support, supervision and review sessions
  • events attended representing the placement organisation
  • training for their volunteer role        
  • travel to and from any of the above where it exceeds 30 minutes
