Aberdeenshire Third Sector Interface Amalgamation

The 3 partners of the Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action (AVA) Partnership have formed a Steering Group to deliver an amalgamated, single Third Sector Interface (TSI) for Aberdeenshire.  CVS Aberdeenshire Central and South, Bridge CVS and Volunteer Centre Aberdeenshire will come together to form a new charitable organisation that will promote, support and develop the third sector, social enterprise and volunteering across Aberdeenshire.
This amalgamation will take place during 2014 and is being supported by Scottish Government and Aberdeenshire Council.  The Steering Group overseeing this process consists of the Chairpersons from each of the AVA partner organisations and is chaired by an independent member, Ken Milroy, founder and CEO of Aberdeen Foyer.  The Steering Group has commissioned Avanté Consulting to advise and help manage the significant changes required.  Avanté Consulting are leading public policy consultants with extensive experience across private and third sectors in Scotland.
The Steering Group was formed on 16 May, attended by the CEOs of the AVA partners and has developed an action plan which includes stakeholder engagement, independent recruitment of a new Board and independent recruitment of the CEO for the new organisation.  Third sector organisations operating in the Shire, along with Community Planning Partners, will be kept informed and involved at various stages during the process to ensure the new TSI is robust, credible and will deliver for the Shire.
An initial briefing meeting has taken place to which all staff were invited.  Meeting summaries will be produced after each meeting and distributed through websites and e-mail communications channels.  To find out more please contact either Carolyn Stenhouse, Kenny Murphy or Karen McWilliam of Avanté Consulting at,, or

Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland improves the quality of life  for people in Scotland affected by chest, heart and stroke illness.

Volunteers are required throughout Aberdeenshire to support people who have had a stroke, helping them with communication difficulties through social group activities or outreach work in people's homes.  No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given.  CHSS volunteers come from all walks of life and make a real difference to people's lives while learning new skills, meeting people and working as part of a team.  The CHSS volunteering programme holds the prestigious "Investors in Volunteers" status.
